I met a hero called Nigel Owens Rugby referee!

They do say never meet your heroes but I met one, a man i have held in high regard for a long time, Nigel Owens Rugby Referee.

He is a now retired rugby referee, one of the top rugby referees to ever have blown a whistle.

He was booked to speak at a charity fundraiser for the charity I photograph for, Alex's Wish, Cure Duchenne at a fund raiser held at Syston Rugby Club and he made the evening a complete success.

Some people can speak in public and some can captivate an audience and he did the latter for well over 50 minutes.

Over £9000.00 was raised by auctioning off the memorabilia he had signed and he undertook a four hour each way drive to be with us.

He was, and still, a hero and it was an absolute pleasure to meet him.
