Shooting aeroplanes for a great cause, charity photography.

Why on earth would I be shooting aeroplanes?

Why would I be shooting biplanes, old biplanes?

Because there are people standing on them, at 500 feet in the air, obvs!

Oh that’s all right then! What were they doing it for?

Now that is a great question because what would persuade people to strap into a harness and a back support attached to an aeroplane that is flying around at between 100 and 500 feet above an airfield?

To raise money for a great charity.

Charities have dedicated, wonderful people who buy into the cause of the charity and the values because it reflects their own values. This is why people give up their most valuable asset, their time.

They also go about getting sponsorship for the feat they are undertaking, persuading their family and friends to part with hard earned money to support their friend who is supporting the charity.

Without these people living their core values, none of this would or could happen.

My role in this?

To capture the moments these wonderful women spent in the air so they can relive that experience over and over again, whenever they want to because those feelings will never leave them or those memories be forgotten. Charity photography is essential and more photographers should do it.

One glance at the photos and they will be back on that aircraft wing, the wind racing through their hair.

The charity uses the images for marketing and awareness, the fund raisers show their friends who might also be inspired to participate next time.

It is the power of the imagery that enables this and that is why I am pleased to play my part and do what I do, because it helps, it really helps.
